Fiction loves company, and there were plenty of both at “Novel Night,” the Rye Free Reading Room bi-annual fundraiser hosted by the Auxiliary Board November 8. At dinner parties all over town, guests were dressed in inspired garb — from ancient Greece (“The Odyssey”) to the Roaring 20s (“The Great Gatsby”).
After fine meals and rich discussion themed around works of “Great Escape,” everyone headed to Apawamis Club for an irresistible silent auction — including a number of luxurious escapes — dessert and dancing.
Cheers to the Novel Night Committee, chaired by Amy Fowle and Monica Brenner, for helping fund programming, author visits, and a host of other educational activities for the community, and to the Rye Free Reading Room for a great ending to its centennial year.
