Four Rye Country Day runners have been teaming up this season to break several school relay records, including one at the prestigious Penn Relays.
Jinger Pearce, Julie Shanus, Caroline Kimmel, and Olivia Sullivan broke their own school record in the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 4:09.20 at the University of Pennsylvania.
The Penn Relays are the largest track and field competition in the United States with participants from around the world competing in more than 300 events.
The Wildcats’ relay team has qualified for the U.S. Track and Field Championships next month.
Coached by Charles Ogbonna, the foursome also team up in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 meter relay events.
