School of the Holy Child Middle School recently hosted its first Technology Night featuring the “future generation of women in technology.” During the student-hosted event, families were guided through the scope and sequence of the School’s technology program. Families played the piano on pieces of “conductive” fruit, observed student-built robots in action, and played original computer games programmed by eighth graders.
“Our curriculum is a means to developing girls to be the best version of themselves,” said Head of Holy Child’s Middle School, Colleen Pettus. “This hands-on, experiential learning allows girls to think and grow in ways that are often not possible in the more traditional classes.”
School of the Holy Child continues to be at the forefront of innovative curriculum design that seeks to empower girls in all areas, including technology, engineering and design.
