Virginia M. Pagnani passed away peacefully on October 20, 2019. She was 86.
Born on February 5, 1933 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Philip and Madeleine Riley. She attended Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota.
Ginger, as she was called, raised her four children in Greenwich, where she was an enthusiastic volunteer at Brunswick School’s Clothing Nook and headed the PTA at North Street School.
An adventurer by nature, she loved exploring the world and wanted her children to share those same experiences. They visited Russia during the Cold War, traveled extensively throughout Europe, headed to Bermuda for spring break, and summered in Chatham on Cape Cod.
To Mrs. Pagnani, family mattered most, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great joy.
She was a lifelong student of the world, whether reading, traveling, or enjoying the ballet and museums. A woman of extremely strong faith and love of God, she was also civic-minded and for many years served as a member of the Greenwich RTM.
Mrs. Pagnani is survived by her children: Pamela, Allyson (Christopher) Martin, Rick (Amy), and Keith (Katy); her grandchildren: Jennie (Mark DiFiore), Charlie, Mackenzie, Sloan, Aidan, Colin, Eli, Kiernan, Keith Jr., Kristy, and Kyle; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Leigh; and her sister, Joan Moran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel in Greenwich.
Donations in Virginia Pagnani’s memory may be made to the Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education, 238 Jewett Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
