Peter Thomas Fox, longtime supervisor of the Rye Marina, died peacefully in his sleep on April 12, 2020.
Born on January 26, 1953 in Port Chester, N.Y., he was the son of Gloria (Donahue) and Joseph John Fox. He graduated from Iona Prep and Iona College in New Rochelle.
He worked at Rockwell Collins, installing navigation equipment in airplanes. He later went to work for the City of Rye as the Boat Basin Supervisor, retiring in 2017, after 23 years of service.
Peter enjoyed boating and being out on the water with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed gardening with his wife. “Pete lived a good life,” said his wife Helen Fox.
A longtime Rye resident, Mr. Fox, for the past several months, lived at The Osborn, where he was recovering from multiple surgeries he’d undergone last fall.
In addition to his loving wife Helen, he is survived by his sister, Mary Fox Fronk; niece Alyssa Fronk; sister-in-law Kathy Fox; and many relatives, neighbors, and friends who will miss him. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Joseph Michael (Mickey) Fox who died in 2011.
The family wishes to thank Greenwich Hospital and The Osborn for their excellent care. Donations in Peter Fox’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Once public gatherings are permitted, there will be a celebration of his life.
