In search of knowledge, escape, entertainment, and inspiration, hundreds of readers headed to the Rye Free Reading Room the weekend of September 9 for the annual book sale.
The selection of gently used books, displayed on long tables throughout the library and out on the Village Green, was first-rate — some 9,000 books were donated. Over $11,378 was raised and the children’s books that were not sold were given to Hope Community Services and other charitable organizations.
“We want to thank everyone who worked so hard to put this together and all those who came and made this such a successful event for the library,” said Auxiliary Board Co-President Georgia Dyer.
