Three hundred and twenty-one young athletes, between the ages of 7 and 14, took to the Sound and streets for the Westchester Kids Triathlon in Rye September 28.

Three hundred and twenty-one young athletes, between the ages of 7 and 14, took to the Sound and streets for the Westchester Kids Triathlon in Rye September 28. Of the 181 entrants in the 7-10 division and 140 in the 11-14 group, close to 100 were from Rye.
The younger group swam 75 yards, biked two miles, and ran a mile. The older kids also ran a mile, but swam and biked twice as far as the young set.
Tyler Dusek won the boys 7-10 race and Meghan Lynch, won the girls 7-10 division.
Of the 86 boys in the 7-10 race, William Mongillo was the first Rye boy to finish. On the girls’ side, Rye’s Emma Kahle placed 2nd in this heat of 95.
In the 11-14 division, Ryan Lynch took top honors. Jasper Brenham-Williams was the first Rye finisher, placing 22 out of 67.
Olivia Curran of White Plains won the older girls’ race. Elena Perez-Segnini was the top Rye finisher. She placed 6th out of 73.
