At approximately 1:15 a.m. on July 1, Rye Police Department officers were dispatched to Cedar Place, after receiving a report that a man was seen trespassing and peering into the windows of a home in the area. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers were advised that the suspect had fled, but were provided with a physical description of the subject.
Officers were then advised that another caller had reported a suspicious person, this time near Midland Avenue and Billington Court. Upon arrival, they found 29-year-old Isaias Asbel Juarez of Port Chester, who fit the earlier description, seated in a vehicle. He was arrested and admitted to being the subject wanted in connection with the trespassing incident. During a subsequent search of his vehicle, RPD officers found two containers of what was later determined to be cocaine. Juarez was transported to Rye Police Headquarters, processed, and arraigned in Rye City Court on Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and was released to appear in Rye City Court. The subject who reported the Trespassing incident declined to press charges.
