Kelsey Mirabito Joins the Y’s A Team
The Rye YMCA is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelsey Mirabito as Fitness and Wellness Director. In addition to overseeing the Y’s Fitness Center, Freestyle Fitness Zone, and ExerZone, she will also supervise a team of personal trainers, assist with community health initiatives, and develop member wellness programs.
For the past decade, Mirabito has promoted health, fitness, and safety, first as a teen-age personal trainer and group exercise instructor, and later in various positions at colleges and universities. Most recently, she served as the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi and as Fitness and Recreation Coordinator at Cazenovia College.
She earned a B.S. in Wellness Management with a minor in Health Science from SUNY Oswego and a Master of Science in Community Health from SUNY Cortland. She also holds several certifications, including health education specialist, personal trainer, and yoga instructor.
“Working at the YMCA is exactly what I’ve always envisioned for my career,” Mirabito remarked. “The Y’s focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility align perfectly with my goals. When you can give back to the community the way the Y does, it really makes you feel passionate about where you’re working.”
Born and raised in Newburgh, New York, she has returned to her roots, settling for now in Rockland County with her new husband, and their beagle and cat.
“The breadth and depth of Kelsey’s experience make her a great fit for the Rye Y,” observed Diana Vita, Senior Director of Member Wellness. “She has a passion for breaking down barriers to wellness and helping people achieve their goals. We’re thrilled that Kelsey has joined the Rye Y team.”
