5/1: Bet it came in on “911”. Caller stated trunk of black Porsche was left open, Station Plaza. No sign of tampering.
5/8: Bennett Street caller reported suspicious black vehicle, possibly from a car service, at end of Lindbergh Avenue, 5:30 a.m. Vehicle legally parked, apparently all night, nothing suspicious.
5/7: Caller said construction vehicles blocking view of intersection, causing hazardous condition, Dearborn Avenue/Everett Street. Vehicle moved prior to arrival.
5/7: Caller reported hit-and-run accident. Tree service truck struck red Toyota Sienna, left business card on vehicle with note stating tree business owner would repay damages.
5/6: Suspicious “older” male walking on Milton Road with package under his arm, wearing beige coat. GOA.
5/6: Milton Road resident reported group of kids in front of his house making noise. Canvassed area, all quiet.
5/6: Bad sit-uation. Kirby Lane resident reported missing outdoor furniture cushion.
5/6: Report of child on mini-bike riding around parking lot, Oakland Beach Avenue. Spoke to father of party; he was putting the bike away.
5/6: Brush with the law. Raccoon reported walking in circles, growling, Bradford Avenue footbridge. Observed animal walk into thick brush, where officer not able to get good look or safely dispatch.
5/5: Large patio umbrella in middle of roadway, Purchase Street/Station Plaza.
5/5: Caller reported coyote walking through his yard, adjacent to Rye High football field, 7:17 a.m.
5/5: Some pal. Milton Road resident reported fraudulent use of PayPal account online.
5/5: Bent Franklins. Walk-in stated he just sold iPad in Chase Bank lobby to man who paid him with four counterfeit $100 bills.
5/5: Open house. Franklin Avenue caller stated his neighbor sold his home and it is unoccupied. Stated someone left door open all day. Home re-secured.
5/4: City Code violation. Leaf blowers in use witnessed by officer, Holly Lane. Summons issued.
5/4: Gimme Swelter. Caller reported dog possibly in distress, locked in vehicle, Car Park #2. Owner on scene warned for leaving K9 in car in warm weather, with constant barking.
5/4: Baby raccoon reported in front of Forest Avenue house, maybe crying for its mother. GOA.
5/4: Rock chipping reported at Old Post Road property, 5:06 p.m. Construction company advised chipping must end by 3:30 p.m.
5/4: Dearborn Avenue caller stated male wearing “Optimum” shirt walked into his home. When resident asked man what he was doing there and said he was going to call police, intruder replied, “Please don’t.” Party then got into white Toyota with TLC plates and “Optimum” magnets on rear of vehicle.
5/4: Vanishing act. Bennett Street caller stated there were 40-50 youths in front of her home being loud, disturbing the peace. Canvassed area, negative results.
5/3: Caller reported loud group, Rye Town Park, 2:06 a.m. Group dispersed. Warned of being in park after dark. Youths left without issue, followed by officer in Car 10.
5/3: Caller reported group of youths hanging out in Rye Town Park, 8:47 p.m. Said one of them was on roof of ticket booth. Canvassed area, negative results.
5/3: Multiple cars parked on Dearborn Avenue in violation of beach parking code. Summonses issued.
5/2: City Code violation. Use of leaf blowers, Peck Avenue. Crew packing up upon arrival. Warning issued.
5/2: Officer observed Slim-Jim being used on vehicle in front of Post Office. Owner of vehicle was being assisted by Rye Shell employee after locking keys in her car.
5/1: No appeasement. Leaf blowers in use, Chamberlain Street. Summons issued.
5/1: Coyote was running through Helen Avenue yard, 12:13 p.m.
